Better believe Dope boys can count. Even the ones that can't read can count!

As an English teacher, I would’ve sat back and had an easy day—unless disrespect was involved.

I taught 5th grade. My class clown was great at finding the answers in his head and couldn’t show his work using common core strategies. I knew he was super smart, naturally. So, I took great pleasure in giving him the floor to show me and the class how he worked his magic! I was thoroughly impressed. Since it was in the days where the students got points deducted for not showing work (which I hated for my brainiac) I told him to just write or draw a brief demonstration of how he thought it out instead of worrying about showing the work according to the workbooks, and I would give him the credit. I was sick of giving a student C’s when he, clearly, had a method that worked for him. He got A’s from then on out.

T.I.’s teacher missed out on a great moment to connect with his student! Students love when teachers aren’t afraid to be vulnerable.

Used to hate teachers trying to clown me for not using their methods

As a teacher I let my students co- teach at least one day out of the week. This helps with student engagement and it gives them the confidence to go farther in life with their education.

That wasn’t a real teacher, he was a babysitter.

Seeing one of his students that he couldn’t connect with, show him that he has the knowledge and it forced him to quit.

He was there to destroy kids, not help them.

TI a real one for that

Many gifted students from certain inner city and rural schools weren't afforded the opportunity to be in gifted classes which could have drastically changed their lives.

I’ve done my math in my head since I was a little kid girl. I have a family member that just changed careers and went into teaching. He is shocked by so many teachers that are complaining in their break room and yet he understands because the behavior of the kids in the classes are unreal. So many are not prepared for the work in the grade they are in. He’s baffled as to how they have just been passed on. He’s determined to make a difference. Parents WAKE UP. When you know more about your coworkers than what your kids are doing in school, then you need to put that phone down and spend time with your kids!!!! They ARE our future. 💙

My son is like that.. never showed his work. He had it all in his head. A mathematical genius!

Some students are naturally gifted and you let them shine, instead of being insecure.

As a special education teacher I completely understand and side with TI! Since my students have documented shortcomings or conditions that cause them to learn differently it’s a must I consider things like letting them answer without showing work or even answering orally without writing anything down because they learn differently and express themselves best in different ways.

Best math teacher I had told us, "I don't care if you show every step, I don't care if you write in pen, I just care that you got the right answer, and know how you got it."

Shout out to T.I. I think he’s just an intelligent person that most people try to figure out but can’t

This is a REAL thing that a lot of children deal with in the classroom, daily. It is another form of BULLYING😳😕

I had the exact same experience in college algebra except my professor called me a cheater without reason and that's what made my class erupt because I always had the answer before him and it was impossible for me to do that and cheat. He finally submitted and said I didn't have to show my work, but he said much bigger problems will be impossible for me to do in my head. Of course everyone said they wanted to stop having to show their work too. He said, "Hell no! Y'all not that smart" 😂

I think people grossly underestimate how intelligent rappers are.

My high school math teacher had the complete opposite reaction towards me, once she saw that the works was easy for me, she told me I didn’t have to the and had me help out other struggling students in the class everyday
