I am a Russian Orthodox Russian from Kiev, The Failed State of Ukraine. My parents were not baptised. I was only nine years old, when I asked to be baptised after reading the Bible, adapted for schoolchildren aged 12-14, compiled under the guidance of the Russian Orthodox Church before the 1917 revolution. My parents agreed without further ado, as freedom of religion and thought was a natural right of a human being for them, even if it's a little human being :). I went to Moscow for the summer, where my aunt baptised me. It was 1990, the last year of the USSR. No one persecuted anyone for their faithby that time(unlike today's Ukraine). I continued to read a lot of scientific religious studies literature, at the age of 13 I read the Koran, without much analysis of it, much less comparativistic one. Many years later, my parents came to faith, each of them having had a different experience of encountering Christ. They did not have to study the essence of Christianity for a long time, because they, as highly erudite people, had already read the Fathers of the Church and knew its history (Ecumenical Councils etc.). They knew a lot about Islam, but nowhere near as much as they knew about Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism or Hinduism. We have had very little discussion of the religion in question. By the time I was in my twenties, Muslims began to appear in my life, not friends, but I saw them regularly. These were convinced, not nominal, followers of the teachings of the 'prophet', both Shia and Sunni. It never occurred to me to embrace Islam, but what struck me was the amount of outright lies and manipulation they use to try to draw you into their heretical sect, as St John Damascene, a witness to the birth of the religion, called Islam. I was simply unprepared for the fact that people who claim the purity of their doctrine could knowingly resort to lies. Many years have passed, I see that Islam has become a real threat to our Civilisation. Especially now that there are a lot of desperate people out there. Thanks to Sam, J. Dyer, C.P., and others for what they are doing. We can't lose this battle by definition, but we can't sit idly by. You guys are helping lost souls get home.

I was thinking of starting a website with apologetics against Islam, on my language (could not find one) I have no experience with debating but can leram how to make a blog and write.

I listen and study this over the last year and all the time I keep thinking why I’m not helping too. Islam in my country is very small but I had contact with when visited Europe and was shocked with the spread since I knew very little about it and be studying since them to be prepared in case it starts coming here too…
