It's a sustainable choice that keeps me from constantly buying iron supplements. Simply boil it for 10 minutes with 2 drops of lemon, and it’s good to go! @luckyironlife is made from food-grade electrolytic iron powder and FDA certified, it's gentle on the stomach and incredibly versatile.

I use it to fortify everything from my matcha and baked goods to veggie broth and stews. With summer here, I can even make iron-infused ice cubes for my drinks!

To keep it in top shape, wash it with soap and water, dry it thoroughly, and it should last you 5 years. I add a touch of coconut oil to protect it, and it’s ready for its next use!

If you have an iron deficiency, also make sure you're not drinking caffeine and that your vitamin C levels are up! I had low-iron anemia and once I started upping my Vitamin C intake I felt *much* better. I had been taking iron tablets, had my lucky iron fish, and had been increasing iron in my diet, and was still deficient until I upped my Vitamin C intake. I would reccomend just eating tangerines or a grapefruit or whatever rather than drinking OJ, for instance, as the way the juice is processed often gets rid of the Vitamin C beneficial for iron deficiency.

Research shortened for those like me who never trust anything at a first glance, it does work, however is largely unnecessary unless you're actively experiencing issues from low iron levels. The effects aren't instant and require a lot of use of the product (3-6 months of use 3 times a day) so if you dont have time to boil water or make soup that often, or just need quicker relief from your symptoms, then other options may be better for you.
Use of this product is unlikely to be harmful, as its really hard to get the body (assuming healthy) to absorb more iron than it needs, and the slow absorbsion of this product makes it especially difficult to over dose on iron.
Overall, if you are iron difficent, and cant gain that iron though your normal meals or supplements because of lifestyle or health concerns, this product could be helpful to you with proper use, and is a good bit less expensive than iron cookware and alternatives.

A new level of the "If you're anemic why can't you just lick an iron ingot" joke

Things to emphasize this fish ONLY works if used PROPERLY, 👏 and when boiled in ACIDIC water for 10 mins. And different from passively using castiron cookware!
1) it is still cast iron (non-heme iron) low bioavaillity form (and absorbtion)
2) to clarify: eletrolytic iron is just refined iron material to contain little to no other trace/heavy metal from the production process (which may exist in regular castiron wares)
3) the fish is not seasoned, but coated with coconut oil that is is saturated fat and melts off in hot water and will have good surface area.
4)Do Not Try To Disolve Your Regular Cast Iron 👏 that is suppose to be coated.
5) instuctions reccomend 3x use a day, with ~6mg per LITER of iron water. And gradual longterm change to iron levels in blood work can take 3-6 months.
6) this product is intended to add to iron your suppose to be getting from your other foods do not rely on this as a supplement, if you need supplements cause your iron has been too low or for a long time and you need to raise it take the supplement at the same time.
7) bioavailability varies but the estimated absorption of iron (non-heme) is 1-10%, but for Heme- iron 30%, how much iron your actually getting gets complicated here.

Matcha blocks iron absorption make sure to have iron supplements separate to tea and coffee which r still healthy but to be enjoyed apart😊

You need vitamin c about an hour before your iron intake to help it absorb properly & it helps so much. My OB taught me that when i was pregnant

In India, we use iron vessels and pans on daily basis to cook food to cope up with iron requirements.

I don’t think this would be enough for major iron deficiency. I could be wrong, though.

If you get an upset stomach taking iron supplements, you can try other types of iron supplements that have other active ingredients (iron in different chemical formations). These could be ferrous fumarate, ferrous gluconate, ferrous succinate, ferrous sulfate.
Mom vomits from taking ferrous gluconate but not ferrous fumarate.

If none of those work, you could try to supplement directly with hemoglobin capsules instead. That basically deconstructed animal blood, lol. But it’s generally well tolerated.

Also remember to eat vitamin C with the iron if the tablets don’t already contain vitamin C. It helps with absorption.

Has there been studies on absorption ability with this. I’d make a bet that the amount of iron that’s being absorbed by your body through this method is negligible. Not trying to be a jerk, that’s just usually how these things work. They sell you on negligible margins of success like it’s the best thing ever.

My doctor recommended me these iron supplements called barimelts. They're made for bariatric patients, so they're really easy on the stomach.

I’m glad you found something that works for you, but have you considered using iron cook ware? Those help quite a bit with iron levels and require a similar care to the pet fish

I had low iron deficiency for years and I hate iron pills, until one day going to a different doctor years later that there was iron infusions (wth) that blew my mind so I had it done and it lasted me 3-6 months but it was costly. 😮 But it helped majorly...

Was skeptical till you said you're actually low on iron, glad it helps you

Matcha blocks the absorption of iron, so this is counter productive, and kinda explains why you have iron deficiency in the first place.

I read somewhere that matcha can prevent iron absorption so its best to not drink it around the time you want to take your iron.

This is amazing! I never even thought about this until now, I also get iron deficiencies a lot and this is such a great idea! ❤

Eating foods high in heme iron is the best way to get iron levels up. Liver, clams etc. Eating foods high in vitamin c with foods that contain iron helps as well by increasing the irons bioavailability. This is especially important for non heme iron (which is the kind in the fish) since non heme iron has a lower bioavailability than heme iron.
