I breed cpds and emerald rasbora, personally I find the micro worms good for conditioning the adults but too large for new fry. Vinegar eels the way to go for the first month, then I switch to micro worms. I have had a lot of success doing it this way.

I keep them on a diy shelf on a closet wall. The light is on for 12 hours a day. My cultures are usually ready to harvest in 24 hours after resetting. Not sure if it's the lighting or something else.

Very informative video. I’ve never heard of micro works before.

Yeast is the food source for the microworms. The reason you don't need to use yeast in a new culture is the yeast in the starter culture seeds the new culture. That is why not adding yeast delays the harvest of the new culture if you do not add more yeast. Enjoy your videos. Thanks Fred O

Thanks informative video. Do mites still get in in your setup? Do you store at room temp? Thanks.

Is this a practical food for full grown guppies too? Wouldn't mind growing my own fish food instead of buying it if possible

Just FYI: Apparently you can start your own culture of microworms with a potato put into a dirt hole, but I've never tried this. Or you can easily get 3 - 5 dollar starter culture on eBay with shipping included. I've used both tank water and water straight from the tap and both methods were successful. I've used yeast every time, and I've consistently been able to harvest within 3-4 days.

My baby Rams are living on microworms right now! I love putting the worms in and watching the babies go after them!! I saw where somebody put Paprika in their worms for color enhancement I think I'm going to try that!
