Does Fabuloso RUIN Your Toilet?

We forgot to take out our flappers from our last video on Fabuloso. So to prove once and for all if Fabuloso harms your toilet, we decided to do a 6 month update video.

That tool is an allen key. It is primarily used by Roger for extracting toilet flappers from jars, but also can be used to assemble Ikea furniture as well as to unclog a garbage disposal.

Observation 1: Any chlorine in the water more than likely was gone after 24 hours (if not less) after it left the tap. While regular tap water is a good control, a strong bleach water jar would also be a good test jar.

Observation 2: It would have been fun to run this test longer, say up to 5 years. Backlight the jars and have them be set pieces.

Observation 3: It would have been interesting to test a few brands of flappers, as only testing one brand limits the results.

I’ve always used Fabuloso to clean my toilets! Glad to see it confirmed that it won’t cause issues. It’s never caused me any issues yet!

Looks like the offset wrench for use on the garbage disposal, to free up the motor if garbage disposal gets bound up !

Don’t remember what it’s called but I have used it to free up the garbage disposal when it gets stuck. ❤

Hi Roger. First thing I thought of was this video. Consumer reports says not to Fabuloso because they say it does wreck things, although you proved it here.

i dont think its about the Flapper... does it ruin the seal between top and bottom tank as well as the rubber washers on the bolts between the two ??? All the blue puck type tank inserts destroy those seals.

The tool from the magic drawer is the same tool I have used to "grundge| (actual sound)" the garbage disposer (about once every two years). It is stored in our magic drawer under the sink. I had no idea it could be used for flappers !!

Makes sense, if this product could cause rubber/plastic to degrade in as little as 6months than it would not be used in toilets.. it would be used in recycling centers.
One of the big reasons plastic waste is even an issue is because of its staying power.

I use Fabuloso constantly & no problem with flappers in two toilets. Also no more mold buildup in tank

I can't see the tool from the magic drawer clearly, but it is the same shape as an insinkerator un-jammer thingy that comes brand new with every badger 500, which is also the same general shape shape as a cheapy phillips and flat tip 2 in 1 screwdriver, the difference being that the insinkerator tool has a fat hex key at each end.

That tool is called an offset screwdriver, and it's intended to work a screw that has the head obstructed by something else. I know them from working on cars, but they are useful for a great many things.

I’ve always wondered what the tool InsinkErator gives me was used for. Now I know it’s a toilet flapper fishing tool!

Wait what did I miss? I use Fabuloso to clean my toilet (and sink and shower), but I only use it for the outside as I put it in a spray bottle. Are you suggesting to put it in the actual tank?

tool is for unclogging the grinder. I like this video. Thanks.

That there is a service wrench for a 110v 1/3 hp motorized drain clogger, used to spin the motor manually to free up those bits of glass from the shot glass you ground up.
