I am swapping to the Elgato Wave Mic Arm Pro (from the Blue Compass boom arm)

Prawn here with a video on why I'm swapping to the Elgato Wave Mic Arm Pro. I've been using the Blue Compass fort about 7 years. But Elgato just sent this new "low profile" mic arm and I've been trying it for a couple of weeks and it's actually made me want to swap to this mic arm and stick with it.

This is an expensive mic arm, but a solid one. One that works well at holding all sorts of mics (of different weights) and is easy to adjust and reposition. The tensioning system is great, but it also has cable management routing and other simple highlights that make it worth considering.

If you're interested, try checking out the iXtech low profile version, much cheaper and feels the same, but comes with a big raiser extension. I've used the iXtech version similar to your blue and it was alright but switched to their LP arm and it's great. No magnetic covers but their do hide inside the arm with slide to lock covers. I then put Velcro straps to ensure the covers don't accidentally pop off when I move the arm around and pull on the XLR a little

You should start an ASMR channel . Just talk about components. It would blow up

100% honest. I have been looking to upgrade my microphone (currently have the carnyx from ROG and it peaks a lot) and your videos have been a godsend about the subject and honestly I love this Arm for a Microphone

You need a podcast or something. You can talk about anything and I’m listening

I am hoping Elgato just sell the gas lift section of this arm because it will literally be a direct upgrade to those that own the original, the mount is all the same and the lower arm looks the same as well minus where the cable tidy is.

Nice review. I have the regular Elgato LP arm and I love it, although I wish it came with a desk grommet.
It's also nice to get a glimpse of all the amazing equipment you have there. Have you ever considered cable management? 😀

This mic arm looks cool, but my og rode psa1 is meeting my needs just fine. I'm not made of money and the Elgato mic arm is not cheap.

it looks very close to the Elgato Wave Mic Arm LP White - Premium Low Profile . if you cvan move it higher on the arm it would be the obvious best way to go.. over in the US quantity is spotty

You need to have plenty of desk space to move a LP arm when not in use, unless, of course, you don't move it and don't mind to have the arm right there all the time even if you don't use it. Not my case. I had the first version because I thought that was what I needed, but no. The LP arm is the worst option for me.

How does the quality and flexibility compare to the Rode PSA1+? I'm trying to decide between the two.
