People that exist with the "I suffered so you should too" mindset are so broken and don't even know it

I hear this paradox a lot. “I work hard so my kids can have a batter life”
_kids having a better life_ “WHY ARE KIDS NOWADAYS SO SOFT!! GET TO WORK!”🤬

You can't pay people poverty-level wages and expect them to lick your boots with a smile on their faces.

We had a new hire I was training who blew my damn rotted Millenial brain. This was peak COVID. We obviously had a staff shortage. I had seniority at that point so had major work dumped on me. Taken on being isolated in a clean room for half my workday, doing my regular caseload, being temp backfill for 2 other people, and training many of their furiously hired new associates. All that said. After 2 days of training, getting along swimming and she says "Bold question. Can I ask what your salary is?" Her tone was concerned so I just blurted. She crouched down and looked side to side and said. "You need to stop." And revealed she had been hired at 4k/yr more than I was making with zero experience other than knowing how to use a computer. She was only there until she got hired at a different job that has a lengthy vetting process. When I tell you that 21 year old took me to church in 30 seconds and saved my life. Within a few weeks I had a new job and haven't looked back.

I love the new generations. Because of them, my employer gave us another week of vacation because the old amounts weren't enough to attract new talent. Whatever they're doing, I'm down. I'm ready to fw skibbity toilet rizz, or whatever gets me more days off.

"My generation is the worst generation" girlypop older generations had no rights for women, black people, minorities, etc. HOW IS GEN Z THE WORST?

Imagine thinking that rebelling against the work industry is "soft", but surrendering your lives to giant corporations makes you "hard".

the whole "nobody wants to work anymore" thing pisses me the hell off.
i had a job interview the other day for a job in a high-demand industry (pathology collection, if any of you were wondering). the interview took two hours, and included me reading over the job responsibilities, submitting my driver's licence, police check and working with children's check, signing paperwork, filling out a 5 page questionnaire, and taking a 45 minute test to make sure i had the minimum standard of english and mathematical literacy to progress with the job. the interviewer told me i'd have to attend a 6 week training program, in a city 2 hours away, before i could start work. i told her that was fine with me.
then, that afternoon, i was sent an email basically saying "oh, nevermind! we don't want you."
i have a driver's licence, and all the relevant checks. i am free 24/7/365. i have a relevant certificate and a year of a relevant university degree. i have 2 relevant character references.
i have no idea what more a company could possibly want from me. it is so exhausting trying to find a job and never hearing anything back from anyone. even this job, which i sat through a 2 hour long interview for, won't tell me what i did wrong or how i can improve.
it's not that nobody wants to work. it's that we can't get fucking hired, and that when we do, we know our rights and our limits. good grief.

Wait let him cook 12:28 “Nobody wants to HIRE. Nobody wants to PAY. Nobody wants to treat their workers like human beings…” WHERE’S THE LIE????

Why do people champion running themselves into the ground for a company that'd sooner fire them for the extra $30k for their CEO a year than actually pay them a livable wage?

To be people from all generations don't WANT to work. Some are just less quiet about it.

Presenting "people are taking sickdays more often" as an issue makes me feel insane, didn't we *just* had a serious pandemic that lasted years and made a lot of people more aware of taking health

They called millennials soft, too. Don't worry, Gen Z. Apparently, we eat avocado toast, so we can't afford to buy a house.
And for those saying, "You're not putting in the work, " it is a clever way of saying, "We are going to exploit you."
KNOW YOUR WORTH AND GET YOUR COIN!

"I started working when I was 14"

Uh yea I did too, and no I don't want to spend the rest of this life in places that underpay, treat you like shit, only to barely afford to support myself

Controversial opinion: people DO want to work. People love working! They just want to work *meaningfully*.

Im a Millenial and they called us "soft" for not putting up with parental, romantic and professional, etc. abuse. Apparently, since everybody else before us didnt "complain", we were expected to do the same. F*ck that!

It's so sad that so many of us are one bad month away from being homeless versus one good month away from being rich, or even comfortable

Elder millennial here:

Generation wars are pointless and stupid. Gen Z: I have nothing but respect for you and everything you have had to deal with.
