i love booktube with my whole heart, so i decided to put my favourite booktubers to the test. i surveyed 101 youtubers' favourite books of 2021 videos, and read 5 of the most recommended books of the year. so, can we trust booktube?

the biggest thing i was confused on when reading It Ends With Us was how everyone loved Ryle, I annotated my book and immediately in the margins i have red flag written lmao

As someone who was in an ab*sive relationship and made it out, I thought I recognized the signs, but I was so mad at myself reading It Ends With Us and realizing that up until THAT part, I had seen no red flags on Ryle until people pointed it out later in reviews, then after a reread, I saw all of it from the beginning and just felt dumb for not seeing it at first.

I really wanted to read The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo but the hype seemed so big, I never felt it could actually be that good. I’m now only 65 pages from finishing it and it’s absolutely incredible. I’m very sad that it’s probably going to be my favourite book I read this year and it’s only February.
