Did this cruise from Basel to Amsterdam Early May 2018. Loved every minute of the cruise. Weather was perfect and the crew of the Eir were outstanding, each and everyone of them. Highly recommend this cruise to everyone we know. Added the 3 day extension at the start in Basel and again, Viking personnel were outstanding in making sure we knew what to do and see. Our only complaint was that the trip was over too soon. Time just flew by because we had so much fun.

We did the Rhine Getaway in April of 2022 (Amsterdam to Basel). We added pre- and post-date extensions on both ends of the trip. Amsterdam (pre-) was fantastic, and the trip to Keukenhof Gardens (only open a few weeks each year) was not to be missed. We added the Lucerne extension at the conclusion of our trip, and again, the Pearls of Switzerland tour was worth every penny. We would do it again, it was so much fun. Due to CoVID (we believe), the ship was not 100% full, making the guest to crew ration even more in our favor. We posted a video of our tour here on YouTube. So many fantastic sites to see along this route!
