I'm a nanny, see mums coming to play groups always doing that and I so bad want to tell them not to do it and explain why as we'd later chat while playing but they'd always get so upset and start shaming me for 'you'll hand them back in the evening!!' so

I bought a sun canopy on amazon called Snoozeshade which has uv protection and also you can strap it to the pram handles so there is air flow and a zip on the front for air flow assuming that’s okay then? And similar products? Just not Muslins or blankets. X

we have a travel system where the baby sits in a car seat which is on top of the pram, if that makes sense! but when the sun is out we use the canopy thing on the car seat, and the shade on the pram and pull both over til they meet each other so the baby is completely enclosed (if that makes ANY sense, i'm aware it's confusing). i was just wondering if that's equally as bad? is it essentially that the pushchair should be open rather than enclosed when it's hot? because if so i definitely need to stop closing it over!

That's shocking. I always put the pram hoodie thing up in the heat and stuff . ... I wonder if that's also not good....🤔

I've always done it as baby facing mum as I love those prams and the muslin attached to the hood but then also to the handle bars so that it is open but they are still covered from the sun. This way they still get the breeze if there is one.

My son who is two cover himself with the blankie when son goes in his eyes.So its a struggle to go out.

I see the reasoning but hardly a fair test, thermometer in different position, angle change and time passed so may be less or more cloudy, position of sun. was baby cooled off? because the heat from the plastic would make hotter quicker. S Should do muslin one first, borrow identical prams etc. All 'muslins are different too, one thinner and less dense etc

I know this because I put the clothe over my head when I breastfeed outside. It can get real hot, real fast!
