We have an incoming transmission from Hawkins, Indiana: Stranger Things Season 5 has started filming. Miss your favorite nerds? They’re back, ready (or not) for whatever Vecna has in store for them in the beloved series’ final season.

While the audience learned quite a bit about the Upside Down in Season 4, there’s definitely more to come in Season 5. “The last remaining questions that are answered in that document, we’ve punted a couple of those to have some big reveals in Season 5,” said Ross Duffer. “And that’s really going to affect what Season 5 is about.”

Returning as series regulars are Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Brett Gelman, Cara Buono, and Jamie Campbell Bower. Amybeth McNulty was promoted to series regular after appearing as a guest in the previous season, while Linda Hamilton joined the main cast in an undisclosed role.

When we last left Hawkins, it was under siege by Vecna. The creators have hinted at a possible time jump, with efforts to de-age the main cast to look like teens again. This suggests Vecna has had time to make Hawkins his home, promising unspeakable horrors.

Could Eddie return in Stranger Things season 5. A theory says it’s possible and that the writers have already hinted at his resurrection. In the DND universe, Vecna’s right-hand man is a half-human, half-vampire created by Vecna named “Kas the Bloody-Handed.” Kas was a human-vampire that fought with a one-handed blade and a shield. So did Eddie.

The Stranger Things X account teased the title of season five's first episode, 'The Crawl', sparking speculation about the residents' fate. Season five is expected to be emotional, with the Duffers' pitch making Netflix executives cry. Max's near-death in season four hints at a challenging recovery and a potentially darker storyline.

Gaten Matarazzo suggested higher stakes with more character deaths, emphasizing the need for tension as the series concludes. Fans are also eager for a resolution to Will Byers' feelings for Mike, highlighted in a heartfelt scene with his brother Jonathan. As the world nears its end, we hope for a satisfying conclusion to Will's storyline.

The season is expected to be released in 2025.
