I'm a skydiver, and typical fall rate is 120mph, but it feels like nothing until you're next to or punching a cloud. Then you realize how fast you're really going.

I grew up near the El Toro marine base in California and those guys seemed to be breaking the sound barrier regularly over us and I am Not complaining.

Same reason 60 feels slow on a motorbike until you lean into a corner and get close to the ground then all of a sudden feels like you're doing 100 😂

As soon as I found out as a child that you can’t have glasses and fly, the dream of being an air pilot went out the window, but I have always since a child and all the airshows I’ve gone to think this is the coolest job in the world

In the 70's I lived on a air base, f-16's we braking the soud all the time, and living next to the tarmac, the booms shook the house! 5-6 times a day!
