SUMMARY :
Step 1: Research Data Science Job Family
- Explore various roles under the data science umbrella, including data scientist, data analyst, machine learning engineer, AI specialist, data engineer, analytics manager, research scientist, etc.
- Understand the responsibilities and required skill sets for each role to identify your interests and goals.

Step 2: Understand Layoff Statistics
- Recognize that while data scientist roles were affected by layoffs, they were less affected compared to other roles like HR and software engineering.

Step 3: Learn Fundamentals
3.1 Statistics:
- Descriptive statistics (mean, median, mode, variance, standard deviation, frequency distribution, etc.).
- Inferential statistics (probability distribution, hypothesis testing, sampling, time series analysis, etc.).

3.2 Machine Learning:
- Supervised learning (linear regression, logistic regression, decision trees, random forest, neural networks, etc.).
- Unsupervised learning (k-means clustering, hierarchical clustering, principal component analysis, etc.).

Step 4: Coding Skills
- Learn Python for data analysis (libraries like Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib) and machine learning (libraries like Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Gain proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and querying databases.

Step 5: Tools Mastery
- Familiarize yourself with tools like Jupyter Notebooks and Google Colab for coding and data analysis.
- Understand version control systems like Git for code management and collaboration.

Step 6: Business and Product Understanding
- Learn business fundamentals and product development lifecycle to understand how data science contributes to business success.
- Develop communication skills to effectively convey insights and recommendations to stakeholders.

Step 7: Project Portfolio
- Work on a variety of projects that showcase your skills and understanding of data science concepts.
- Projects could include hypothesis testing, time series forecasting, customer fraud detection, recommender systems, exploratory data analysis, etc.
- Utilize free datasets from platforms like Kaggle and Google Data Search for project implementation.

Step 8: Interview Preparation
- Practice behavioral, coding, and case study interviews.
- Be able to solve case studies demonstrating problem-solving skills and application of data science techniques.
