My wife hauls horses around the country and we recently installed a 110 gallon fuel tank in the bed of her 2013 F-350 for a total fuel capacity of nearly 150 gallons. She can make it nearly halfway across the country before refueling towing a 15k lb trailer. Not only that but you can fill up in states where fuel is cheaper and have 1, 500 miles or so of range to get through the expensive states without buying fuel.

My 7.3 PSD Excursion used to get 19-20 going 73 from central NJ to the GA-FL line, ~900 miles on the 44 gal tank. it's from 2001 and weighs ~9000 lbs.

I’m a Chevy fanboy through and through but that is simply an impressive truck… no other way to put it

7:22 As always TFL runs on Sinclair. …not because its fuel has dino care additive BUT because they pay us to advertise them.

The test with the Ram was through the mountains and the test with the F350 was across the plains. I would bet they’re close to the same fuel economy.

I have a 2023 Ford F-450 HO 500 hp w/1200 foot pounds of torque. I use the truck for hot shot. I’m getting 8.3 MPG loaded on average. I also have a 2017 RAM Cummins that averages 7.3 MPG. So the Ford gets about 1 MPG better than my RAM. I’m pleased.

Almost 850 miles of range, and it took only a few minutes to refuel.... No EV comes close.

I drove a new 2023 F450 HO from Iowa to Denver w/cruise set to 79mph and got 13mpg. The 4.3 gearing certainly affected the mileage. My biggest surprise was how smooth and comfy it was to drive. I was expecting a harsh ride and as long as the road was smooth, the truck was super smooth.

Have a 2020 F-350 King Ranch dually, really like the truck! I've tried the Eco mode a few times and really haven't noticed much difference in fuel mileage. It really cuts back on the power though, really noticeable. In 56, 000 miles of driving we've gotten over 20mpg three times (figured manually), must have had a tail wind and it was really nice! We've gotten in the 6's a few times pulling the camper on windy days (should have stopped and camped). We have a 50-gal auxiliary fuel tank in back for a total of 98 gallons, makes traveling real nice.

I drive F350 dually, diesel with the 3:55 rear axle. I live in New Mexico and my mileage when driving a mixture of interstate and secondary roads is 17.1 to 17.4. All of the driving is at 3500 - 9500 feet above sea level and includes driving in the mountains.

Had a 1999 24-valve Dodge, 3.54 rear gear, auto, 2WD, 235/85 on the stock rims all around (speedo corrected). Only mods were my favorite Group IV in the crank, same brand in the trans and pumpkin, oversized canister air filter with heat shield and a Banks hard elbow. My diesel mechanic buddy recommended running between 1600 and 1900 rpm (72 mph) for best efficiency. Maybe 400 lbs of gear in the bed, extended cab full of family, usually averaged 23-24 mpg highway (hand calculated) here in the inter-mountain west. Was a great, if a little loud, truck.

Kudos to Ford for giving us a proper fuel tank. I wish all trucks made the most of all that space under the bed!

I drove my 2012 F-450 975 miles from Columbus Ohio to Crystal River Florida with no back ache. It was actually a pleasant trip. This was a 6 speed truck with 4:30 gears. I drove mostly 72 mph and got 14.5 mpg.
