Tesla has already confirmed, it's 300-500K on the low end cars, 500-800K on the S & X, some over 1M. The Semi, Cybertruck and CyberCabs are projected to go over 1M, with the Semi having a 1M mile drivetrain warranty. At least a half dozen other Million Mile Batteries are ready or in production for 2024-5. 2025 will be the Year Of The Million Miles Batteries. CATL condensed battery, their Bus Series, Jeff Dahns Single Crystal Mica, Zeeker, BYD, Tesla, Panasonic, Toyota, using Lithium Air, Salt Batteries, NMC, LIP, Sulfur, Nano Glass, Solid State and Fuel Cells...towards Millions Mile Batteries.

Any hybrid tax incentives need to be calculated by a sensor that reports the actual ZEV proportion of use.

Battery degradation isn't linear!!! 1.8 percent/year in the early years says nothing about the later years. Tesla/Dalhousie data suggests an asymptotic degradation over longer time periods.

A friend bought a used 2016 model S last year. A few months ago, the battery died. It was still under warranty. 👌

This is going to be another blow to legacy car companies that need high sales volume to service their debt. If cars go from ~150k mile lifespan to over 300k mile usable lives, demand for new cars will fall. If people don't need to replace their high mileage car because the engine/transmission is shot, they will tend to not buy someone else's used car which will make trade in values drop.

The downside of simply waiting for the superior EV technology to take over is that an incentive is needed now, to accelerate production of EVs, in order to prevent unaffordably greater costs from even worse overloading of our atmosphere with CO2 emitted from the burning of gasoline and diesel fuels in our cars, as well as the use of other fossil fuels in our homes and our businesses.

Likewise, we charge ourselves for sewage treatment costs related to our water usage, to prevent the pollution of our drinking water. We The People (by Our Government) also regulate our businesses to prevent the release of toxic emissions from making us all sick with unhealthy air to breath.

If I drive 50, 000 miles a year as an UBER driver vs someone driving 10, 000 miles a year I expect degradation to be tied to mileage/recharging more than age.

Also, the leader in solar panel tech has annual degradation of the panel down to 0.1 percent per year, i.e. First Solar.

HUGE! This means that in coming years used replacement batteries will become common - likely cheaper than used engines, which means that whole thesis that battery replacement is an issue- this will be the last nail in the anti EV FUD. Given most vehicles last about 200, 000 miles, assuming batteries last 500, 000, they will allow fixing defective batteries and batteries damaged in accidents.
It would be awesome once Tesla gets enough data and can officially extend the battery warranty to 250, 000 miles. It would have a HUGE impact on any concern over life of EV batteries

Other Legacy automakers may go Hybrids but the public may realize the best deal is 100% Battery cars. When the world see the leader in EVs such as China 🇨🇳 that prefer 100% battery cars. Legacy auto making hybrids will be hurt due to lack of sales. Hybrids are polluting the environment so once the public realize the truth it over for legacy automakers.

The future is here for clean products so that’s 100% EVs not hybrid cars

CATL will make owning an EV a necessity. With batteries going into mass production that have 600k mile warranty with 10 years.

The Problem is time I can usually get 20 to 25 years out of a car you're not going to get that out of a battery.

This isn't right. A Tesla battery degrades the most over the first 50k miles, then very slowly thereafter.

Thanks. Biggest issue is people listen to Bubba instead of looking things upfor them selves. While not full i have used regenerative braking, so maybe a step up from the average. Now if could figure this tying shoes thing.
