I think I found the secret to winning these "Do you feel like you've learned something today" challenges:
If you manage to confuse the audience, and make things completely overcomplicated, like Sal's math calculation, they'll simply feel like you are smarter than them, and will feel to embarrased to admit that the lecture was pointless, because they assume that they simply weren't smart enough to keep up.
And so they'll lie, and say that they've learned something to look smarter. Peak strategy

One of the funniest segments on the show. It is in my top ten along with Murr’s dog cremation key chain, Sal’s terrible stand up, Joe’s coat check fashion show, Sal and Joe’s how we spent your charity money. I loved the simple tip calculator. Pure genius idea.
