Christian meditation is more than just reading the Bible or saying prayers. It's about connecting deeply with God through focused thought and reflection. Duane Sheriff teaches how meditation is a profound discipline that aids personal growth in our walk with the Lord.

Psalm 5:1 says, "Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my meditation," highlighting that meditation is similar to a conversation with God. Romans 12:2 talks about renewing the mind. Renewal doesn't come from simply hearing God's word but from meditating on it daily, letting it transform our thoughts and actions. Christian meditation helps us dwell on God's truths and promises, shifting our mindset from worldly problems to divine solutions.

Jesus states in Matthew 4:4, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God." Just as bread nourishes the body, God's word nourishes the soul, and through meditation, we can deeply absorb and benefit from it. Regardless of our daily busyness, we can find time to meditate on God's word.

Christian meditation involves pondering, imagining, and muttering scripture, thereby letting God's word penetrate deeply into our hearts, transforming us from the inside out. Psalm 19:14 says, "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord." Meditation involves both our thoughts and our words. Everyone meditates on something all the time - the key is choosing to meditate on God's truth rather than worries or lies. Through this practice, we learn to set our minds on things above and live lives that reflect our faith and God's love. #god #meditation #godsword

I do I do I do I want to please God!!! I want to be all He wants me to be and God is using you to show & confirm to me that meditating on His Word absolutely is But I know because I heard Him and have been obeying and seeing the difference in my mood when “life” starts to consume my time….because seeking Him first is always best use of my time but I wanna seek Him 2nd 3rd and 4th!!!! God is using to expound and using you to use His Glorious Holy Faithful Word to basically illustrate 2 Timothy 3:16 on this/these/ God’s Words. Yup Satan is a hijacking terrorist.

Duane, I struggle so much to be still and meditate and pray. I talk to God all throughout my day but when I just sat down in the morning and try to be quiet and meditate on him, I can’t hardly do it. I’m 64 and I’ve been a Christian since I was 16. I feel so bad that I am not better at this by now. Also, I wonder if you would remember my aunt Shirley Hecker from Winfield Iowa. She was the most amazing godly woman In your circle back in the day and she learned much from you. You were probably around the same age. Anyway, God bless you for your continued serving. 🙏🏻 😊
