The movie pales in comparison to the books. I watched it after listening to the audio books of the first and second, and I can see why people would like this movie if they haven't read the books, but from my perspective they absolutely disregarded the chronicle of prydain's lore and was missing vital characters for the story. They should have done them one at a time rather than mix two into one which was a really bad idea and made things confusing in the movie like, for example, how did gurdy even survive in the black crochan? And how were they able to locate where it was for that matter, why wasn't the black sword of gwydian in spiral castle, and more. So many things done wrong, this was an enjoyable movie but a mess on getting the books right.

I LOVE THIS MOVIE ‼️‼️‼️ WONDERFUL‼️🌟🌟 It is actually one of my favourites I don’t understand why people complained about it they are tasteless

And yet that little tidbit didn't help it at the box office or with critics and audiences. Even now, it's still divisive among Disney fans, who either find it an underrated cult classic or one of the studio's weaker films.
