Doug and Allan go hands on with the new Canon EOS R5 and EOS R6 full frame mirrorless cameras, four new RF lenses and two teleconverters. They test both cameras for photo and video capability and put the RF 85mm f/2 Macro, the RF 100-500mm, the RF 600mm & 800mm f/11 lenses through their paces.

The Canon EOS R5 features a 45 megapixel CMOS sensor, an ISO range of 100-51200, 8K 30p raw video, dual pixel CMOS AF II and more.

The Canon EOS R6 features a 20 megapixel CMOS sensor, an ISO range of 100-102400, 4K 60p video, dual pixel CMOS AF II and more.

The RF 85mm f/2 Macro IS STM lens features Optical Image Stabilization with 5 stops of correction and more.

The RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1L IS USM lens features OIS with 5 stops of correction and three selectable modes.

The RF 600mm & 800mm f/11 IS STM are lightweight super tele lenses with a fixed f/11 aperture for maximum quality.

The RF Extenders 1.4x & 2x are compatible with the RF 100-500mm, 600mm and 800mm lenses, causing minimal impact to image quality and lens performance.

Which new Canon camera are you most excited about?

I'm a stills shooter for the last 30 years... and my Canon 5Dii still rocks with the right glass on the body!!!!
:)
Do we really need bigger/better to this extent? Of course Canon wants to convince us purchasing yet another new camera with more processing power than the PC taking humanity to the moon in the 1960s... AND it cost as much as a second-hand car!!!! I admit that the "true silent mode" is very useful during weddings, nature shots etc, but is it worth the money for a semi-pro?
In the old days (pre-digital) photographers used what today is sneered at, a mechanical metal box with a piece of glass in front + 36 negatives and no "auto" anything what so ever... still they produced fantastic images that still stands the test of time.
OK, if I had a million on the bank I might buy one of these R5/R6 toys... but as long as I live in the real world I will keep to the great second-hand gear that flooding the markets.... most of this type of gear cover 98% of what us semi-pro and/or amateurs need. If I ever need an R5/R6 these for a job which I doubt... then I will not buy one, I just rent it for a day.

No All-I in EOS R6 and both overheat. What are they thinking in 2020? 😃

Hey! Thanks for the video, I have a few questions...

1. Does the AF work well with adapted EF lenses?
2. Can you record an internal video proxy for the 8k etc
3. How long can you shoot 4k video for? Is there a 30 minute limit or will it get hot after a general amount of time?
4. When will you be getting 🙏

Thanks

What is Canon going to do with the heat problem? I’m in the market for a new camera and the r5 was top on my list but I’m hesitant to buy with this current problem

R5 has weird inverse vignetting, the edges of the frame are clearly brighter particularly obvious at 10:10, 10:38 and 11:06

My 7D II is similar in many ways to the R5. Nobody needs 8K but I like the 45 mb. Would I trade it in? Maybe.

I wonder what type of computer you need to edit those 8k raw, at 2600 Mb/s, im sure if I put my 3 old macs together it wont run realtime before grading, 4k raw should have been included as an option.

Looks interesting - the 8K footage didn't look like much, but then again I'm viewing on YouTube in HD, so unlikely to show any difference...

I can't wait to see YouTube videos of people switching back to Canon from Sony.

God damn you, Canon. I wanted to buy the Fuji X-T4, and you come out and do this to me? I'm now thinking of getting the R6 even though it doesn't have all-i; I don't care whatsoever. I am not stuck in a system, and the lens selection for Canon does make sense. I'm just polling now on which kidney to sell.

What about tethering shooting, what connections does it offer?

When I will change my lens will the shutter cover up the sensor like it did in the Eos R?

None of these previews mentions GPS, did they not bother with GPS in these cameras?
