I want to see that story of the tourist living in the cave turned into a movie.

That sounds like a great story of people from different backgrounds working together to survive.

What a great question, ‘How ethical is it to unearth the dead and bury them somewhere else?’ Also, how ethical is it to unbury the dead and put them in a museum (Ancient Pharaohs)? I don’t know but I’ll think about it all day.

Angkor Wat was originally a Hindi temple and was later converted to Buddhist. The Khmer ruler at the time lost numerous battles against their Vietnamese neighbors and decided a new set of gods was needed. Removal of old statues seems not unusual in this case.

Even in colonial US beer was drunk by all because the water was not safe to drink. I'm sure that was also true in Egypt so I doubt the beer was only for ceremony.

For as many people that have died, there's not many areas without people's remains. It appears to be okay to hate each other while alive but once dead the remains become almost sacred. Does not make sense, love and respect while alive, then let them go as the spirit is no longer there.

Unless the same people who are complaining about the bodies being dug up and moved are going to advocate for the mummies to be returned to the tombs in Egypt, and so on, they need to shut up.

interesting comments about climate change and the cave art of Borneo and around the world. The cave art is (best estimate) 45, 000 years old. How many hot and cold cycles have occurred in that time period? Several. So why hasn't all that caused the art to decay?

The idea that "we" care about historical dead people died the second we dragged a mummy out of their tomb an paraded them around the world or put them on display in museums.... They did not want such... They wanted to be left alone, an went to great lengths to ensure they would be... What we do to the bodies of the ancients is the exact opposite of their undying wishes...

@Katrina - just so you know, "shire", when not used on its own, but as part of the name of a county here in the UK, is more typically pronounced "sheer", or even "sher". Otherwise, keep up the good work. :)
