Our dear friend Judy Shanley has been living with stage-4 lung cancer for over two years under the remarkable care of Dr. Jeffrey A. Engelman and the Massachusetts General Hospital Team in Boston.

Judy is receiving what is known as Targeted Cancer Therapy. Many oncologists believe that targeted therapies are the chemotherapy of the future. Dr. Engelman has Judy in a clinical trial for the drug Crizotinib. Although the drug has extended Judy's life, eventually the cancer will develop a resistance to it. Dr. Engelman and his team are currently at work trying to identify new therapies that will help Judy and other lung cancer patients.
