LEARN ABOUT GEOCACHING HERE!

Geocaching is a fun and rewarding hobby that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and skill levels. For those who are new to geocaching, the prospect of finding hidden treasures in the great outdoors can be an exciting experience. However, it can also be a bit intimidating, especially for those who are unfamiliar with the hobby or don't know where to start. Here are some tips on how new geocachers, or "muggles," can get involved with geocaching:

2. Find a cache near you: Once you've created your account, use the search function to find a cache near you. You can filter your search by location, difficulty, and terrain, depending on your preferences.

3. Read the cache description: Before you head out to search for a cache, be sure to read the cache description carefully. This will give you important information about the cache, including its location, difficulty level, and any hints that might help you find it.

4. Bring a pen and some trinkets to trade: When you find a cache, be sure to sign the logbook and leave a trinket if you have one to trade. This is a fun way to participate in the geocaching community and leave your mark on the cache.

5. Follow the geocaching etiquette: As you get more involved with geocaching, it's important to follow the etiquette of the hobby. This includes leaving the cache exactly as you found it, respecting private property, and being mindful of other geocachers and muggles who may be in the area.

If you want to learn more about getting involved with the geocaching community, you can subscribe to Hullsome on YouTube and follow me on TikTok and Instagram. Can I just say thank you? Around 3 months ago, I started seeing your videos online all the time and decided to try geocaching. I am now addicted to it and wherever I go, I check to see if one is near where I am. I have even hidden some! Thank you so much for getting me into this awesome addiction!

I have watched ALL of your videos, and they inspire me to get off my couch and go geocaching! Yesterday, I was out caching with two friends when a cache was super high in a tree… ended up climbing it and got a super fun time! You even inspired me to hide my own cache in my local park! Thanks man!

I’ve got a cache like that, only it’s around 5 times as high up! Extension pole required 😅

I found a bison tube up a tree, attached to a tape measure that was painted brown (the cache title was "Can You Measure Up?" and GZ was in the middle of a big-ass tree, so it was easy to find...the biggest problem I had was that it was just out of my reach (I'm 6' tall and around 180), so I had to heft myself partway up this tree (at a *backwards* angle, no less) to grab onto it...I'm also 40 and have a bad knee, so it was an event and my knee didn't like me for a while after that 😆

I got one like that called Bird House. There were no sticks around even though I was in a forest but luckily I was vertically tall and was on my tippy toes standing on a small stump and barely reached it to pull it down. 😂

Using a tape measurer as a cheap pulley is genius

I’ve never understood geocaching because whenever I ask somebody what it is they just say something that makes no sense like “you walk around” or “I dunno” and these videos don’t even explain it for me either 😭 even google doesn’t know what geocaching is wtf is it
