I'm not a City fan, but Oscar Bobb is the one academy graduate after Foden I can see that was really special at a young age.

McAtee definitely has something about him. I’m actually not surprised Pep hasn’t been using him more this season. He’s played in 11 matches in all competitions this season for a grand total of 457 minutes. But I think he would have received more 20-30 cameo minutes and starts against bottom half sides of City had been their usual dominating self. He’s definitely a talent and I hope Pep starts using him more in the second half of the season

City win 8-0 and they spend 10 minutes criticising them. Couldn't make it up really.

Mark you will never wish city well. They asked you something else and you talking about selling Macca. Sorry, you will see him more often

The problem with Mcatee is he's in the last year and a half of his contract. So unless he extends theyll have no choicd to sell just like Palmer. Theyre not going to let him go for free.

City score 8, Macca scores a hattrick, and they spend 80% of the time on McAtee going out.

Ogden should be disqualified from reporting. He's so biased, so anti City.

Congrats to Mark Ogden for the most negative assessment of a hattrick of all time

McAtee showed improvement as the game progressed, with a strong second half after a lacklustre first.

I hope he stays loyal to City and gets more playing time, but that depends on his patience and willingness to adapt to Pep's management style.

Pep values "nice guys" for their maturity and ability to fit into the team to win under his management imbedded in the club culture.

I can see why James might feel frustrated not playing, but I hope he knows it's a test of resilience under Pep's methods.

Those who accept the challenge even if not with perfect talent and flaws will play eventually often succeeding, like Zinchenko, who worked hard for his spot and eventually moved to Arsenal.

You will be rejected, most likely if you play on the team at at least once probably more than that. Do you wanna fight back or no that’s what he’s testing.

On the flip side, players like Cancelo and Laporte have struggled when faced with challenges.

Other City academy lads played really well

Some argue more so than McAtee, who was underperforming most of the 1st half.

The others just didn’t score a hat-trick but impressed.

O’Reilly & Mubama especially,

For Mubama, 1st time giving a performance at this level in competitive games in 1st team.

Likely most never even heard of them.

O’Reilly has been showing himself to the point where some City fans wonder…

If he is more likely to play regularly

than McAtee.
