Nick Heidfeld holds the record for the most podium finishes without a single win. And when you look back at his career, you have to say he was never in a position of having a win within his grasp. I think his only chance came in Canada 2008. Had his team kept him on a 2-stop strategy when he got into the lead after the SC, he probably would have had enough speed to stay ahead of Robert Kubica and all the 1-stoppers.

Wasted driver, better than %90 of the current grid.He was solid, quick.

Heidfeld was the guy who could challenge the bests for a long time. He is in the Rosberg, Kubica, Norris, Montoya, Coulthard, Frentzen group

Definitely an underrated driver (and I have no idea why Renault dropped him in mid-2011). He does however have the slightly dubious record of the most podiums without a win (13), a record which he also holds in Formula E (8, shared with André Lotterer). And to think he could've won the very first FE race in Beijing 2014 if Nico Prost hadn't swerved across him and sent him flying!

wow makes me respect him more and more ....underrated driver, the bmw boys were too good .

Drivers are more mindful in wheel to wheel racing back then. Now they only did 3 things, DRS overtake, torpedo diving, or intentionally push the other to the gravel
swordsman
was nick wdc material and also why didn’t his career last longer
kimiraikkonen
1:43 super move by nick around the outside
garyambrosini
Nick and Alonso both are amazing drivers. I jus wonder what happened to Nick, he definitely gave us quite a show especially challenging the top teams.

Yeah heidfeld was underrated but nowhere near alonso

Heidfeld passing Alonso in Fuji 2007 is missing.

You should have put at the end of the video the photo that they made the last weekend in Italy exchanging their helmets in which Alonso wrote: “My friend Nick Heidfeld. Thank you.”

Ciaron, I mean this in the best way possible... you're such a shithead for that ending! Great video concept though. As someone who only got into the sport in the last few years. I knew Heidfeld was a really strong driver, but never knew he gave Alonso in particular problems because he never really was a part of the title fight any year of his career. Ironically, this years version of his presence on the grid might be Alonso himself. Not really a threat to win but a constant barrier that the better teams have to deal with to get in range of the podium, and on occasion on it himself.

HurairahGT
Quick Nick was solid and consistent. Along with Hulk and Chris Amon, best to never win a F1 race
