In this video, I show you step-by-step how to add an XML Sitemap to your WordPress website using the Yoast SEO plugin. I also explain and show the difference between XML Sitemaps & HTML Sitmaps and show you how to make sure your XML Sitemap has been submitted to Google Search Console.

After checking Google Search Console for a successfully submitted XML Sitemap, I show you step-by-step how to identify any Crawling Errors on your website. In this example, I show you an error on my own website in which Google Search Console alerted me to an error with my HTML Sitemap which was set to 'noindex.'

Jumping back over to WordPress, I show you how to change the Yoast SEO settings on the page that was causing the Error in Google Search Console.

Once the Yoast settings are updated, we return to Google Search Console to 'Validate Fix' so that the HTML Sitemap can be Indexed.

Google is telling me my sitemap appears to be an HTML page, and wants me to use a supported sitemap format instead. Not sure how to fix that.

I’m using Yoast Plugin I submitted the sitemaps to Google Console. But It is showing error as “Couldn’t fetch” Status. Once clicking it shows “Sitemap could not be read”

Please let know what to do from my end.
