It’s survival of the fittest over here, but this Ficus Audrey is going to make it! I found a new leaf this morning 🌱

My brain is so satisfied that this pot fits 😮‍💨

The helicopter plant parent in me definitely used a light meter all over my house to make sure my plants are getting optimal light, which I learned is A LOT MORE than you would think.

It’s so worth it because I would personally argue that LIGHT is the most important factor when it comes to plant care (more so than even water!). I’ve had many plants really flourish once I gave them more light ☀️

Yes! My mom gave me a hoya carnosa that had probably been in the same pot, in the same soil, for at least 15 years. It was completely fine until it moved into my apartment and started dropping leaves like flies. I changed the soil into a better mix and cut off any questionable roots and it just kept dropping leaves. After it had probably dropped a third of them I repotted it into a terracotta pot, changed the soil again, trimmed even more roots, and now it seems to have forgiven me for disturbing its peace at my parents' house.
I also have problems finding nice cover pots. Anything over 13cm is either fugly, expensive, or both.

MAKE your own pots! You can use concrete or even resin. There are youtube videos on how to do it!😁

lol this happened with my philodendron brasil. beautiful plant, was doing super well and looked healthy, but suddenly lost most of its leaves within a couple days. chopped it up to try and propagate what still looked fined but nope, everything else died aswell

My huge beautiful dracena tree did this and i was unable to save it. It happened shortly after moving it to a "self watering" pot. I had grown that tree for almost 8 years after pulling it out of an arrangement. I'm still so bummed about it.

My full yellow lime ficus dropped all its leaves when I had it on the window seal. I moved it (getting a bit less sunlight) and now it’s growing a lot of leaves. Sometimes it’s the location and the sunlight it’s getting.

Add moss on top of the soil. Is the plant sitting below an air vent?

Unless you want your plants to be bigger, repoting isn't really necessary. you just need to trim the roots and you're good! :D. (I wish i knew this tip before, so much money wasted on pots...)

have a regal shields alocacia, and she’s pretty young and i haven’t been the best plant parent at the moment she has 3 healthy leaves and she has 2 meh leaves that are kinda 😅. anyways i forgot to water her and her two meh leaves just dropped and turned yellow IMMEDIATELY so now she has three leaves and i’m praying for more 😭
