Prigozhin only had 5000 troops on the road to Moscow. That is not a serious attempt to take a city like Moscow especially when two dozen precision misiles woudl have taken out the entire column in less than 15 minutes.

It is bad theatre; Prigozhin was close to Moscow yet has agreed to be tried in Belarus. It is a poor deception for Prigozhin to move troops to attack from the north.

to be fair.. a military force of 25, 000men .. if they turn up unexpected and there isnt an army to confront them.. then any small russian military in their way would have no choice but to let them through.. or they could fight, but would be overwhelmed.
