I can't be the only one who, when watching the scene where Fairy Godmother covered this song at the ball in celebration of Shrek and Fiona's marriage, felt that she was singing it not because she wanted to set the mood or was a Bonnie Tyler fan, but as a way to subtly coerce Fiona into kissing Charming (without drawing too much attention onto herself) to solidify the effects of the love potion and ensure her takeover of Far, Far Away, and their diabolical plan probably would have gone off without a hitch if not for Shrek and friends showing up to crash the party. Oh, and Gingy knowing the Muffin Man, of course, that factor was ever so important

I'm planning a party--and playing this song--for a worker at my job, because he was a real hero. He saved a life and successfully fought a bunch of brutal men, some of whom had knives. But I was wondering, do you guys think I should play the recorded fight at the party? A replay during the I Need a Hero song? Maybe he would feel honored, or maybe he would feel uncomfortable? He didn't get cut or injured or anything, but still, that was probably a scary moment for him, you know what I mean?

And it certainly was for me. See, when I watched him fight the guys, it scared me because I was worried about if he would get kiIIed or seriously hurt. Prior to that moment, I had kinda gotten in his face at work for touching crew members. *_Casual_* touches, like on arms or shoulders. He was always very outgoing and tactile at work. Still, I'd taken him to my colleague’s office for a chat and told him he shouldn't touch anyone without consent. Just handshakes. I said we needed the workers to be comfortable in a good work environment, that he pretty much shouldn't talk about anything other than work and school. How he shouldn't tell his stories because they may be inappropriate or upsetting (can't remember my words) to the other workers; funny to him only. I think he’s about 25, give or take. He seemed pretty quiet and uncomfortable during my speech. Answered a question or two with a nod and headshake. I even said to my present colleague "Is there anything you want to add?" I didn't realize how insensitive I was that day. That's why I wanted to apologize by throwing him a great party. He deserves it. He did _not_ deserve the way I shamed him in front of his boss. He made some mistakes, but I didn't handle it right. I don't even think they were as bad as I made them out to be. I should've been more respectful and patient. His risking his life made me realize this.
