As Chris Hedges has stated, when he worked at the Times even with all its faults, you would be gone your career over, if you did this crap.

Yeah, this was a big story in Canada back in 2018 when the podcast aired. In Sept. of this year Chaudry was finally arrested on hoax charges. In December, the NYT was forced to give back the awards it won for the podcast (Peabody Award, Oversees Press Club Award, and Lowell Thomas Award).
