The story behind 'Velvet Morning' with Kyau & Albert | Muzikxpress 071

For this week's vlog I spoke to Ralph Kyau & Steven Moebius Albert a.k.a. Kyau & Albert, about their classic "Velvet Morning". A track they did together with Damea. This version came out back in 2003 via the label "Club Culture". A year later, in 2004, UK based label "Anjunabeats" re-released the track including remixes by Mirco De Govia and Aalto.

In the interview you'll hear Kyau & Albert talk about how the track was born, how long it took to make the track, which equipment they used, what happened after the release and more! Plus you'll hear more about their latest artist album "Neverlost" and some of their future plans as well!

Enjoy and thanks for watching!

Fantastic interview by the way. Love these guys, have met them a few times over the years. One time I emailed them saying I was looking forward to see them play at Sankey's Ibiza - they replied and got me and my friends into the club on their guest list, met them after their show and gave me a signed Euphonic t shirt which I still have lying around somewhere. Absolute legends!

Mirco's Remix is a masterpiece. Mirco was a god of melodic trance back then and I'd love to see you review him someday.

I loved your previous interviews but this is very special and greatest interview! I remember back in 2001 I bought Dream Dance 19 and there was their track Outside. Since then I guess I'm biggest fan of K&A. I enjoyed interview so much! You asked the questions I had in my mind. I was wondering why they not so active on the scene lately and why they working with Anjuna specificly. Thank you so much Twan for your great job! Appreciate it sooo much!

They seem like very humble people. Another great interview Twan and you should keep your original recordings for your questions as well. Sounds much more authentic.

Well done. These two guys are simple lovely fellows. And they produced some really great trance tracks.

My favourites of them are (among more cool tracks):
Made Of Sun (KvA Hard Dub + Original)
Ridgewalkers "Find" Remix
"About The Sun" and "Memory Lane"
Young Parisians "Jump The Next Train" Remix
Velvet Morning "Aalto Remix"
Ayu "Appears" Remix
Blank & Jones "Waiting For The Light" Remix
"Are You Fine", "Kiksu", "7 Skies", "Falling Anywhere", Kiksu
"Not With You" (Ronski Speed Remix)
OceanLab "Sirens Of The Sea" Remix
"Hide & Seek" Lange Remix
Above & Beyond "You Got To Go" Remix
Bent "As You Fall" Remix
"I Love You" (Cosmic Gate Remix + Original)

I admit that I lost track of K&A. Simply because the sound changed, the trance scene changed, I got older. I have been listening to Trance for like 15 years now and I kinda took a break. But I'll try to check out their latest productions and albums now.

These guys are great. I really love Euphonic. Too bad they don't want demos.
