"Trust comes from doing treatment, not from using logic." That is a powerful sentence and one I really needed to hear right now. Thank you!

Trust is your natural state, such is also joy, and faith in life, and in the universe. All pain is a mere illusion as they say, but this statement is much more of a life-long understanding than a mere quote. All pain is resistance to natural self, challenges do not define us they are part of the plan. We, OCD sufferers have to learn to be integrative with how our brain works, we go so much against it and that creates inner conflict and much much pain. We got this don't give up

It’s wild how some therapy vids remind me so much of Eastern Orthodox Christian teachings. Especially about how to deal with thoughts. It really helps to reinforce some concepts from monastics/ desert fathers etc that are hard to grasp at first.

With ocd you cant choice, it is all depend on severity of ocd!

And what if it's not okay? Like you have a thought that if you don't take action you know it would cause more harm. Then it's not okay. For example I once left the stove on and my ocd actually protected me. My paranoia saved my cat's life. If I didn't listen to my ocd it could've been worse. So then what? It proved to protect me. One night I was walking and normally I'm not afraid of anyone behind me but this night my ocd protected me because he was following me and then followed me again after "disappearing" and until I crossed the street. I only knew because I was looking back after every few steps doing my checking compulsion to make sure I didn't drop anything. So it was justified even though it wasn't for that reason.
And then one of my compulsion is trauma based. I did a compulsion that created a new phobia so I can survive- which I didn't know about, but now I have to continue that compulsion but for a different reason- to prevent my phobia from happening. Talk about consequences. So how do I trust myself that everything is okay when it has protected me but also ruined me?

my thoughts seem intrusive but at the same time there are times when they seem intentional and I like them, how can I tell if a thought is intrusive or not?
