C++ for robotics, hardware, gaming industry, and most of Microsoft.

Python for average speed backend web development, data analysis, machine learning, and AI.

Java for android apps and high speed backend web development (day trading and Cyber Monday e-commerce). Kotlin is better for all those things, but not many people are trained on it nor want to be.

LOVED Classic ASP and - dirty secret - still do, heh! I actually took to Python easily because to me it seems so similar to Classic ASP. I built a whole CMS with Classic ASP back in 1996.

It should NOT be about who will win...All these three languages have domains of their own and in their respective domain, they are the king.

Golang, will eventually take Python, and C++'s spot, best of both worlds, easy to write like python, with the type safety, and speed of C++. Java is here to stay though.

Python got popular for data science because it is data friendly language and Java for backends and C++ is the only language that is used to compute heavy tasks on machine. I am currently using kotlin a lot in my projects and I believe Kotlin should now replace Python because Kotlin also great for data science just like python.

there are no winners here... each language has it strong suits.. and niche it shines in. So depending in which niche a programmer operates, the prefered language(s) change.
