Many in India are divided over US President Donald Trump’s ‘filthy air in India’ comment during a presidential election debate with Joe Biden. Though many Indians might be hurt with the jibe and can argue that the US is way ahead from India in terms of carbon dioxide emissions, in reality India’s air quality particularly in some places really stinks. According to World Air Report 2019, India was the 5th most polluted country in the world and 21 of the most polluted cities in the world are located in India.

Although its frustrating, its true that we've made our country filthy...our rivers..our cities..have all become unbearable. We have to concentrate on our *non existing* infrastructure..have planned cities...stop overburdening our centuries old cities that do not and probably will not have any kind of infrastructure. We need to stop comparing ourselves with backward countries and focus on bettering ourselves. We definitely have the potential, all we need is the commitment.
