One important niche if you were interested may be for educational presentations. Online courses, lessons, lectures, courses, etc. Basically now every faculty/teacher is in this delivery area, like it or not since Covid. Most don't have good presentation or production skills for this. With current technology (OBS, and for fancier people ATEM, StreamDeck, ...) it is easy for anyone to have a small office area setup for good content. But in addition, there are important teaching methods for this type of presentation (many good science videos online as examples). Your skill and enthusiasm certainly make your videos charming as well as helpful! Thanks.

Cat, it takes great courage to admit a mistake and then take the step to correct it. Admittedly, this is an easy mistake to make - you're not alone. I continually must remind myself I cannot please nor speak to everyone. I do believe the narrower our "niche" the more effective we will be. Thank you for sharing this. It's a great reminder to focus and be diligent to apply what you've shared.

I have always said that no matter what you do in life, the most satisfying moments are when you get to pursue your passion. If your passion is focused on helping entrepreneurs to run workshops, webinars or courses, then I know you will do a fantastic job. I can tell that you are excited about your new direction. While I may not fall into your ideal target audience at this time, there is no doubt that I will find something that I can take away from each of your videos that will enrich the work that I do. I'm one of your biggest fans, Cat. Your vulnerability is not a weakness but is your strength which we can all relate to. The best of luck to you. I can't wait for your next video.

Cat, I just watched this video 3x on repeat. In sharing your experiences about content creation, you've revealed to me some very similar patterns & parallels that I've been following in my career (unrelated to content creation!). I've filled a white board with notes and mind maps based on your video. Thank you so much for being so vulnerable in your experiences (in the email list + here!), and thank you once again for the inspiration! And congratulations on finding your niche! I can't wait to see what you do next.

Great video - and the best part of it is that you're happier and more confident in what you're doing now! I'm working through similar questions/problems at the moment thinking about my audience and content. I think I can offer some suggestions to anyone going through the same issues. There are one or two creators I've been following and learning from who are suggesting that YOU ARE YOUR NICHE. If you show up with enthusiasm and patience, and explain the problems you yourself have been tackling, and provide the solutions that you have found, others who are on a similar path (but a few months/years behind you) will be very engaged. Just some food for thought!

There are definitely riches and niches! I've been redefining my audience as well and realizing there is a small subset that actually generates a lot more profit than others.

Identifying your ideal customers is something every company should do and really consider going after those guys instead of the vast majority which often cost you money

I’m glad I’m still welcome, but maybe not quite your target audience. Still, I try to get what I can from every video I watch. I’m thinking of your green screen video as I write. One of the best such video I have ever watched. Best of luck in the future.

Great topic, and thanks for sharing! It's definitely a common hurdle for many business owners I talk to. Understanding your target audience is key to stressing less and finding the focus to be more creative. It's one of the pillars of brand strategy, alongside purpose and resonant expression. I'm happy I found your channel, and you found your clarity!

Thank you for your honesty Cat. I still struggle with that. I’m curious of everything so it’s not easy to figure out who i can help. I help people how to present with Powerpoint so people really listen to you and act. Since there is 30 millions présentations per day ! I have to be more specific. 🙄That’s where i am.

This is interesting for me, Cat, because before Covid, for many years I made my living doing live speaking and live workshops. When Covid happened I wanted to do the same virtually. I searched, purchased programs that I thought would help. Now 3+ later, I have started a YouTube and have bits and pieces still haven’t found a comprehensive strategy for successfully executing an online course.

Welcome to Imposter Syndrom. I see this video, or what you explained, the same as parenting books. You have over 20 different 'philosophies' and as a parent you read the first 4, while your kid falls in 12.
So, thank you, but don't try to excuse yourself for maybe leaving a part of your audience out. They will learn from it, even if it's not for them. Can't win them all, Cat!
