People don't realize how much time, blood, sweat and tears these guys spent learning to play their instruments. Serious dues were paid before the pay off. The Stones never stood a chance!

One of the most talent laden Southern Rock bands ever to play.  Ronnie ran the show, who was in and who was out.  I followed them from 1969 on.  Had tickets to see them on the last concert and have an unopened original Street Survivor Albums with the flames.  Which was pulled from shelves and re-jacketed with just a black background.  I have relatives that live all around the crash.  I went down a year later walked in and you could clearly see the path of the aircraft as it dove in tearing up trees.  I poked around for an hour and found a few parts from the plane,   I was gunna take them, but just couldn't do it, walked back to the truck grabbed a shovel dug a 2 or 3 foot deep hole and tossed them in.  covered it all over.

If you were at this show, drop to your knees and thank the Lord above. Try as they may this performance will never be replicated. Thank you Ronnie. .We remember you.

Skynyrd captured "Lighting in A Bottle" that day.  Boy, do I wish I could get in Marty McFly's  DeLorean and go back to see this concert!  Bad ass band. Best ever for me!

Gaines brought so much to the band so sad his time was short.

The Rolling Stones never stood a chance after this set

This is what made rock music in the 70's the best it'll ever be. No need for lip synching, dance routines or fancy stage effects. Just unadulterated talent. The 54 people who gave this the thumbs down are obviously deaf!!

I was there, it was truly awesome. A lot of us Brits knew what to expect though and they lived up to it.

Any body who got to see this band before the plane crash were seriously blessed though they didn't know it at the time. The band was never rhe same. No disrespect intended.

Whoever filmed this needs to be slapped. Fourteen hours of BLISTERING guitar from Gary Rossington and Steve Gaines... let's show close-ups of Ronnie's face. Seriously... Starting at 3:33, Rossington was wailing so hard, that's even Ronnie had to stop what he was doing to look at Gary and smile. Rossington was shredding so fiercely, they got the flames for the original Street Survivors cover from his fretboard.

One of the best, if not THE best live band of all time. It's totally amazing they were this tight LIVE. Awesome performance, and what a loss to no longer have Ronnie Van Zant in this world. One of the best lead singers in rock - EVER!
