Hey Bro: This is a fantastic video! Great job laying this all out for everyone! These combinations are awesome on their own and also as "building blocks" for other combinations. The possibilities are endless! One thing that I do is the #2 exercise flipped as a double bass figure...3 on the kick, 2 with the hands...just a different effect. My favorite of these is #3 because it is so dang sic! Especially the way you are playing it...really digging into your floor tom (which sounds killer, btw)...so the tom sound starts to morph with the bass drum sound and it amounts to a flurry of notes!! I also like that you are using your splash stack as a sound source in these combinations...It sounds amazing with the flurry of low notes and suddenly the splashes are barking thru with contrast...very killer!! But, the coolest thing is that you've shown how to actually use these in a groove (or song) application! That's one of the really cool aspects of your playing that I've always loved since the XYZ days...You take patterns that most people could only do in a solo setting and apply them tastefully and very musically in songs! Kudos bro! Again, great job! Later, Jon

You remembered :) Lick # 3...from "When The Night Comes Down"...I think on the track it was the other way around..the 6 notes, then 4 then 6. Amazing, thank you for that brought back alot of memories practicing that with you way back when. You didn't miss a beat and still nail it. Love the vids Paul and the keep it real down to earth approach. So many useful things that all can get get something out of, regardless of playing level ability.
