Taking Off from LAX in a Cessna 172 - LAX to SMO

This is a video of our flight from Los Angeles International Airport (KLAX) to Santa Monica Airport (KSMO) on Friday, May 1, 2020. We took advantage of the light air traffic at LAX to fly the Cessna over to Signature for a very unique experience. The LAX controllers were very friendly and accommodating and I would like to say a big thank you to them for that! While this is something that you can do at any time, the current situation allowed us to get sequenced in very quickly. We were given 25R in the south complex for departure followed by a right turn at the shoreline, giving us a great view of LAX. This is the full video from engine startup to engine shutdown.
