Lucerne is a city of eighty thousand people, located at the heart of the country and fifty km south of Zürich. It was founded in the ninth century, once was a candidate city for becoming the Capital of Switzerland and today is the 7th largest city. Lucerne has long been a top destination for tourists! The beautiful lake, Reuss river, Pilatus & Rigi mountains are its charming natural elements.
Top Attractions
Chapel Bridge or Kapellbrücke. A wooden covered bridge built in 14th century, the oldest in Europe. Inside are paintings depicting Lucerne's history.
The Lion Monument is found in a small park
just off the Löwenplatz square.
The medieval Walls or Mussegmauer. Nine well preserved defense towers, offering magnificent views of the city.
Water Tower (Wasserturm), an octagonal fortification from the 13th century, the city's most famous landmark.
Lake Lucerne is a popular tourist destination, both for native Swiss and foreigners, and there are many hotels and resorts along the shores.

Weggis. The "Riviera of Central Switzerland"! The town has a famously mild climate and numerous southern plants (chestnut trees, palms, grapes) that thrive here. With the aerial tramway you can arrive at Rigi-Kaltbad & the Viewpoint Känzeli.
Then you can continue climbing up the mountain on the cog railway (Vitznau-Rigi-Bahn).
Vitznau. You may arrive here by car, or boat and take the mountain train to the Spa Resort of Rigi Kaltbad. The imposing Park Hotel west of the town dates from the 1900s.
Mount Pilatus. Near Lucerne and easily accessible by public transport, the Pilatus (2073 m.) is the ideal adventure mountain for the whole family. Hotels & restaurants, rope park, hiking, star watching, are a few of the many things Pilatus mountain has to offer… On the north side, a gondola cableway and a new aerial cableway connect Kriens to Pilatus Kulm. Unique view & comfort! The world’s steepest cog railway starts its climb at Alpnachstad and tackles a maximum gradient of 48 percent, thereby passing forests, meadows and rock faces.
Everyone enjoys hiking the Pilatus. It is a fascinating journey of discovery. The paths range from easy to alpine, thus offering appropriate routes for families, schools, senior citizens, associations and nature lovers.
Rigi Kaltbad. All you have ever dreamt of is here! Alpine environment, breathtaking view, impressive nature, luxury facilities, revitalizing wellness treatments!
