I'm not quitting Destiny 2 right away, but we need to talk about the future. Let me know your thoughts.

Idk why ppl are surprised… bungie literally made a sort of Ted Talk saying that you should give the absolute minim to players at the max price because surpassing expectations was bad for business long term…
Its a company that switched their approach to minimum effort until it became a joke. Bungie dug their own grave

Destiny isn’t even a looter shooter anymore, We used to get excited when getting legendary gear, we used to have loot caves and videos on players reactions to getting exotics! I feel as if I’m the only one who misses the excitement of getting a new piece of random gear. Destiny 1 did that better

Either you die being a great game (titanfall 2) or you get milked for long enough to become a shadow of former glory

The reason why Final Shape sold less than Lightfall was because Lightfall was riding on the Witch Queen hype. Then Final Shape was riding on the Lightfall low. If Into the Light never happened Final Shape would've just flopped despite how good it is.

Lightfall was the worst thing that happened to Destiny 2 since sunsets.

The dude who wanted raids and dungeons removed from destiny is delusional.
Destiny is the only game with first person raids. That's what made it unique in the first place, and removing them will alienate the fan base and render it just another shooter in saturated market.

The reason why Destiny is no longer attracting new players is not because it has the inability to appeal to new players or a younger fan base. I started playing the game in my early twenties when the game released, now approaching my mid thirties. The problem is that the game has earned itself a poor reputation over time with bad decisions at Bungie.

Destiny always universally appealed to any age bracket interested in gaming. It is the disappointments over the years that have chased away old players, and the very same info reaching potential new players, discouraging them from taking up the game. I had a former clan mate who started playing Destiny when he was only 9. Bungie simply covering for their failure by using age demographics as an excuse.

Nope, I'm done with the franchise. After D1 and D2 there's no way I'm going to support D3. What in the history of those two games tells you that things will be better with a new installment?! As long a those making decisions still sit in that chair nothing changes. It's like the Sopranos back then, it's over find a new show.

One of my biggest issues is the persistent need to replay story missions on all 3 characters. Once you’ve completed this on one of your characters, that should be enough surely?! I find this a poor attempt to suck game hours out from players.

One of the biggest issues with destiny was removing the red war campaign rather than revamping it a little bit. There basically hasn’t really been a way for new light to slowly understand the game that isn’t confusing since.

If Bungo wants to have expansions, they better have the Vaulted Content Expansions that brings back Red War Campaign with a Legendary Campaign, Vaulted Strikes and the locations back. And they better not charge for it because most people want the stuff the paid for back. Bungo better do this BEFORE they even consider doing Destiny 3.

Is this what I was like to watch the Roman Empire fall?

This is like watching a giant empire fall.

Strikes are really cool, but having to deal with nonstop Caiatl dialogue in the Playlist, and back-to-back Ascendant Realm treks, is really killing the variety.

In what world do we praise a developer for return weapons that were taken away because they were too lazy to innovate ie into the light? Seriously?

Said it once I’ll say it again: the game is a vehicle for microtransactions. If you can’t see that, I’ve got a 20 skin to sell. Microtransactions are ridiculously profitable especially the way Bungie does it.

They haven’t innovated because it hasn’t been necessary. Give players a few reskins, have them dunk a ball somewhere, and give them a shiny exotic to play with, they’ll stick around and hell maybe a few thousand will drop 20 bucks in Eververse.

I'm saying this as someone who's been playing Destiny 2 since the launch. I still got the ability to download the beta, that's how long I've been here. Just looking at my name should say enough. I agree with the game needing a reboot. A clean slate.

Those who've been playing since D1 will understand that one of the greatest things there was the progression. Progression that made you feel stronger. Exotics that meant something, and all around fun stuff that was done. When Destiny 2 released, we got a clean slate and we got hyped. It took awhile between launch and Forsaken, but we played around so much it got fun.

However, as soon as the mass sunsetting happened and the vaulting, the game started to fade.

Destiny 2 wasn't Destiny 2 anymore.

Destiny 2 became a shadow of what it was all for supposed "storage space" and story purposes. Yet the same people who said that, then readded things and reskin them with the file size barely changing. The file size between Season of Arrival and Beyond Light, was increased by a few gigabytes. It didn't drop even after the removal of more than half the locations and nearly all the story. Even after the Witness it defeated, we still don't have everything we lost.

I believe we need a clean slate, because Destiny 2 is frozen in place. Lost its face, its value, and most importantly...

The Love Behind The Game.

Composers who made some of the best music, gone.
People who helped create the stories, gone.
The people who worked on the game day and night, gone.

To recover, we need someone to take over the Destiny franchise. Bungie, as great as it has been, is not what it was.
We saw what happened to studios known for one thing just to keep doing something without the right people and support.

I had two pages of friends who played Destiny 2, now I only got a few of the originals left, because...

They Lost Their Love.

Levi, Eater, Spire, Crown, Scourge, Titan, Io, Mercury, Mars, Red War, Curse, Warmind, Forsaken, everything that gave identity is gone, for them to use recycle Destiny 1 content. The hundreds, if not thousands of hours of love put into these gone, for them to replace it with content that was made back nearly a decade ago.

As a solo player and a day one, Destiny 2 player there are a lot of things I haven't done in this game yet. There are weapons and armor I probably wont ever get either. For me the game still has a lot to offer in a sense.

For me they needed to be dropping D3 a year after Lightfall. There was a finality to the D1/D2 story, 10 years had passed, things were getting stale and the new player count was shrinking badly. D3 should have been the priority, not 5 incubation projects and Marathon, focus on a couple of those projects after you have D3 up and running

If D3 happens I can’t wait to regrind Last Word, Thorn, Black hammer, Thunderlord, red death, chapy, strangers rifle, jade rabbit, Truth, Ghorn. I also can’t wait to replay Taken king raid, Crota, replay the same PvP maps

The thing is destiny 2 have been 7 years out with content. Why the hell do they timegate the old content? 1 gm a week is laughable. And 3 dungeons on rotattion? Open more gms and also give a class item every or every other run. Let people farm whatever endgame content they want. With rotation you can have to wait months to farm weapons. So lame, no one wants to farm content for loot that you never gonna use.
