Hello and welcome to Java! I'm going to be, in the coming weeks, uploading tutorial after tutorial on java! This specific video shows you where to get and how to use the Eclipse IDE (Integrated Development Environment, basically where you write code). This series will get you from no java experience at all to networking, creating multithreaded servers, getting user input, writing to and reading from files, 2D graphics, and more! Have any questions? Feel free to leave them in a comment below :).

This is honestly the best tutorial I have seen or read you start from the beginning and not just the layout you explain what int, float, Booleans, are if statements it's amazing I wish you would do a tutorial on 3d Java development that would be great

thank you so much this is very helpful. you are like the first person that has a decent microphone, has a clear understandable voice, EXPLANES STUFF (most people don't at least not enough), and you don't have very distracting dubstep music or something in the back round. Thanks a lot!

It's really tough for me to learn normally because I really can only understand things when I am taught by comparison. Analogies are my best way to learn, but I haven't been able to find a tutorial that teaches in such a manner. I finally said forget it and ended up on this video. You are by far the best tutorial I have found in my life. Thank you so damn much.

Thank you so much for the reply! It sucks when people don't care about fans and viewers, but I'm glad you do! I'm trying to learn basics just so I don't walk into my course blindly, and watching your vids and following along has definitely been fascinating me so far! I've even taken notes like its a lecture for a class :D haha but thanks for the input, I'm sure college may be a little more advanced but this is definitely opening me up to it and made me psyched to take the course now! cheers!

IDK what the whole "useless explanations" people are thinking. Everything in this video was useful in showing extensions off the general umbrella concepts introduced. Great video!

I love your abstraction, the metaphors were really useful for packages.

Thank you for your lengthy explanation! It is very appreciated. The only way to learn is if you go in detail and actually explain things rather than making it quick and snappy to compensate for most people's short attention span. You are a great help and I will continue watching your videos to learn more about Eclipse. Again, thank you

Very cool. Thank you for explaining the System.out.println. Also, showing that I can adjust the individual font settings.

Listening to this in 1.25 speed is still understandable and makes it a lot faster...
