There is a vacancy for the doorman position in your building and since you need the money and can't find a job you have no choice.

It's 1955 and for unknow reasons doppelganers are more common than normal, so the D.D.D. has taken action on the matter.

Your job will be to allow or deny the entry of the subjects who request entry to the building, it seems easy, but be careful, you can't overlook any detail because you could be food for doppelgangers.

I like that the lore is implying that the door-person is so traumatized by their job they are literally having nightmares about their job.

They need to make a mode where you’re the doppelgänger, trying to convince the doorman to let you in and the doorman should be Henry.

The nightmare mode is kinda easier in a way. Since they kill you immediately if they're a doppelganger, seeing a duplicate of someone in the same run means they're definitely fake, because you've already let one in and they've let you live.

Oh, fun fact, one of the creators of the game outright admitted that Francis is Anastacha's dad on an Instagram post about the game. They wanted to have a "milkman is the dad" joke, so they gave Anastacha the same tic that Francis has, as well as the same eyes. In addition, the Nightmare mode Francis and Anastacha live in the same apartment. Either she's visiting her dad, or Nacha lost being able to see her daughter.

I just realised that many if not all of the neighbours in this mode are named after real deities/ entities from various mythologies (often related to death or suffering) and I think thats such a cool detail

Getting eliminated immediately seems way more new player friendly so you can see your mistake as soon as you make it. Going through an entire day without knowing if you've fucked up yet makes it way more difficult.

Remember that in the Arcade mode the clown’s card says “If you see this clown in your dreams, DON’T play any game with him” 😅 As this is clearly a nightmare the doorman is having, perhaps it would’ve been best to decline 🤣

the nacha look-alike has the same apt as francis in the original version, while the francis look-alike has the same apartment as Nacha from the original game, and the daughter (which is hinted to be theirs) went with francis in this one and i love that

The issue with the Clown at the end of each Nightmare Mode Run, is if you deny his request, he'll just stand there, the only thing you can do is call the D.D.D. to get rid of him, but he actually kills the D.D.D. Agents, and forces you to play.

I fortunately succeeded against the Clown, but he is a pain to verse.
