As a child (I'm now heading for 70) my family lived in a Sears kit home for several years. It had been purchased and built by my great-grandfather in the late 19-teens or early 1920s. I remember on one occasion when my father was making a repair, seeing the "part numbers" on the studs which had been exposed. It's still standing and in excellent condition at just over 100 years of age. Somewhere I have a photocopy of the catalog page where it was listed.
