I'm 36 years old and I love Rocket League, not only for giving me the best moments playing with my son, but also because every season it gives us excellent music. This song is one of our favorites on the tracklist that we listen to when we travel ❤

So reading these comments, my heart kinda sunk, like I might have put my trust in something and it is ruined, from reading these comments. I didnt realise so many people were unhappy with the label recently. I thought buying silk was a great addition and got me into thinking about splitting up what styles of music i listen to for different scenarios. there’s a few artists and songs that I havent really been a big fan of, but i thought that was quite normal: you aren’t going to like every episode of a tv show, so probably similar for a label. Ive loved a few recent releases (boss fights songs, Ding Dong, Pew Pew, Bad Computer, Stonebank, Pegboard Nerds), liked mixdown and although Ive seen a dip in views on songs over the years, i thought it may be because people like me dont really listen to the songs on youtube, but everywhere else.

I didnt realise the label did NFTs and I know nothing about that situation. The fact that I didnt know about it doesn’t mean they didnt promote it too much right? I dont know what it was about, I guess something that only a few people would be interested in, so I dont really care at this point.
Now, i know nothing about business, but from a quick bit of research, Mobil 1 also currently do and have sponsored racing teams, so im assuming anyone linked to this collaboration thought that meant there wouldn’t really be backlash if there already was other people doing the same thing, but I think the context here really is what’s weird. I dont think Koven have really shown themselves as huge car fans, so i believe that the collaboration is to do with Rocket League, which makes me think they are part of this decision.

Its weird, I dont think the intent was malicious, maybe negligent. An answer is also difficult, ideally remove the video and release information about why it was removed, but I feel they may be tied up in contracts, idk

I think what Ive agreed with mostly is Kubson Music who wrote “I am okay with everything but collating with mobil 1???”. I didnt know who they were, what they did or anything like that, so the backlash is good in that sense, but I dont know how much endorsing the company in the first place would do, I had no idea what they did before these comments

At the end of the day, they’re a music label that Ive enjoyed for a while, but this is at my best guess a mistake from not looking further into who the company were owned by and just saw they were endorsed by many other driving teams so thought it would fit somehow into this release and missed.

...really poor execution and foresight.. I really hope Monstercat improves from this, maybe even listen to their community again. I especially don't like the ideas of NFTs, and this collab with a human rights abuser doesn't help it any. I get where the idea came from and while I agree that it would have been pretty cool, Mobil1 wasn't the right choice here unfortunately.
Again, I sincerely hope that Monstercat learns from their missteps and improves like in previous years. In the end, though, this is a pretty nice track. I dig this music

As a longtime fan, it’s upsetting how hard Monstercat has fallen off recently, but this is a new low. An ExxonMobil collaboration? Seriously guys? I’ve lost all respect for this husk of what used to be a community-driven oasis for lovers of electronic music. It’s such a shame to watch one of your favorite music labels be turned into nothing but corporate slush by sellouts with no integrity.

I have been playing rocket league 8 years and ever since "Don't stop the party" its always had inspiring and motivating music. Where as most songs start to grow tired over time, this track get bigger and better with each time i listen to the point it almost makes me cry. Bless you Koven and thank you rocket league for introducing me to some of my favorite modern music.

The fact Monstercat collabed with ExxonMobil here, an oil company that is destroying the planet and a company with a human rights abuse to its name is absolutely baffling.

Great song, but it is saddening to see the route this label’s heading in what with questionable collaborations like this, especially considering this is the community that introduced me to electronic music and inspired me to make it… I hope to see improvements moving forward.

everytime i hear this song i just think about my friends, , , hitting diamond, , the first Green Banner we got, , and then getting one of us to champion! (even if it was for a day lmao) nothing in a million years would get me to trade them for other teammates. here is to the past seasons.. and here is to many more!
