I use a laptop that has ssd gigs of to 2tb inside. Although I decided to buy 2 seperate ssd drives for software storage to run the projects Im editing while it is all plugged into a 3.0 hub, then to the tower, then to the laptop. Iv'e had the 2tb ssd drive for 4 yrs and the 1 tb ssd for 6 yrs but unsure of the lifepsan they have. Even though I use the 2 tb ssd for software storage I feel sometimes its working more then it needs to be so I dont know what is the next step. Buy another one, repair it before I lose files?

If you put an ssd into an old system (not new build) you'd have to migrate Windows from the old hard drive to the new ssd and change the boot ?

An M.2 isn't much faster than a 2.5 SSD, .. in multiple tests shown here on YouTube, the differences are, despite the transfer speeds data the sellers shove down your throats (yes, even Scan), minimal. Even PCIe 4.0 isn't much better, in fact it's a waste of money because your games or video editing etc don't ever really use that much in the way of transfer speeds.

I need a suggestion from you guys. I'm doing my 1st build by January and saving up for the parts. Now I'm still thinking about what kind of ssd I would buy. I would be gaming and maybe slight video or image editing and streaming. Should I go with the NVME M.2 or is it okay to use those much bigger ones. Sata I think? Thanks in advance.

I've been burnt in the past with a cheaper SSD so I'm always going to be looking at the Total Bytes Written endurance rating with a known brand whi live and breath storage. For M.2 the FireCuda 510 is double a fan favourite such as Samsung 970. About time Seagate joined the SSD game!

If you're constantly seeing your Scan shopping basket empty itself while you're shopping, adding, removing or adding items as you carefully research and compile your list, say so here - Scan need to understand how many people it's actually affecting. Damned thing keeps emptying while trying to add things, it's SOOO annoying.
