I'm officially sold on Ava Max, her hook game and melodies are head and shoulders above her contemporaries. I really enjoyed this album, the production is modern, yet with a throwback disco and eurodance feel to it, the songs are catchy and melodically powerful and she does boast a lot of confidence, swag and emotional maturity throughout the whole thing. I think it did overstay its welcome though and some songs are more memorable than others, but overall, it was a fun project with the title track standing out the most to me

Aside from In The Dark, this album is phenomenal. It’s not a concept like her last record, but does feel more consistent and there are more standout tracks than her last record. I just wish she had more popularity, and wasn’t looked at as a Lady Gaga clone

My Opinion:
Ava Max: Diamonds and Dancefloors

Overall, a kinda disposable and generic, but otherwise likeable and fun pop record with some insanely catchy melodies and production work and a great vocal performance from Ava all throughout. Definitely an enjoyable listening experience for me.

Decent/Strong 7/10

A lot of pop fans loath Ava Max for being a derivative Lady Gaga clone. But I think the bigger problem is the fact that her promo team have not been able to push singles effectively in this album cycle. I can see this album flopping due to its inability to cross over despite there being some decent moments on it. (Especially with those dumb ass comments she made in the Rolling Stone interview)

This is just solid pop music, not very distinctive, but pretty good nonetheless.

Feel kinda weird about this one. I actually really liked Heaven & Hell and the first 4 singles released for this. But when One Of Us came out I started to get worried and yeah it could’ve been better. The only deepcuts worth returning to for me are Sleepwalker, Ghost & the title track. The rest of the songs are still decent but nothing special.
