Tbh after the insane sequence break Easter egg in metroid fusion. I’m surprised Nintendo don’t do these Easter eggs more often.

It makes sense. The sequence break wasn't that hard, so they probably found it at some point and ran with it.

Honestly though, while playtesting, they most likely noticed this as a possibility. If you have an elephant and see those blocks beside you, naturally you'd wonder what would happen if you fling spikes on those blocks.

That also happens in a ice level with those enemies that kick the ice blocks if you kill a certain one the flower says “ Your no fun “ 😂😂😂
