My grandfather was on that plane, he was a doctor. We as a family are still grieving… a huge loss.

This is terrible. I'm heartbroken for everyone on board and their families. Those poor people.

This is called a stall spin and is a major killer in aviation. It happens when an aircraft flies at too slow a speed and loses lift across the wings. The aircraft then stops flying and begins falling just like any other heavier than air object. It's usually caused by pilot error, but at times there may be other factors involved.

There were 62 people on board—58 passengers and 4 crew members. Among the passengers were eight oncologists traveling to a medical convention. It's heartbreaking.😢

My husband retired from flying in January. Even though I know aviation is safe, I never watched anything having to do with crashes. Now I watch Air Disasters with him. He can always tell me what went wrong. I'm still glad I didn't watch when he was active. God bless the grieving families.🙏❤

Omg, haven't seen a plane drop like that since WW2 footage! Lord, please have mercy on their souls! 🙏😢

There was a SIGMET issued for this area, severe icing condition between FL120 and FL210. This aircraft was right in the middle of it...

Can’t say I’ve seen many ‘large’ aircraft lost to spins like that. Only ever seen GA or Military. RIP.

It's called a flat spin. Unless you have a lot of sky under you and know what you're doing, it's unrecoverable.

For those who don’t know, there were doctors on that plane who were very good at their job when it came to curing cancer. Hmmm…

Newest info from the black box shows that, from the moment that they noticed height loss, to the moment that they hit the ground, it was roughly 60 seconds

That’s terrifying. I never knew a plane could just fall out the sky like that. I can’t begin to imagine how those poor people felt knowing they were plummeting to their end 😢

Coincidence that 8 cancer doctors that were top researchers in finding a cure for cancer were on that plane….🤔 It’s an ugly world out there! RIP to all.🙏🏽

Dang that's another loss for aviation in 2024

ATRs were removed from service in areas prone to icing after Roselawn. Flying on autopilot in known icing conditions causes accretion of ice right behind the boots without the pilot's knowledge because of the high wing. They didn't know they were in trouble until the a/p clicked off.

Interesting, a flat spin, which meant that it stalled, I think (I'm not a pilot). Icing on the wings? Engines sound like they are fluttering in the video.
