Megadeth - Symphony Of Destruction (Remastered 2020)

Please, wear minimally good headphones or listen back on studio monitors. Phone and laptop speakers are not a good reference to listen to, since they don't sound good at all.

This is a remastered version of the track done in June 2019 (not an official release). The current volume levels of this video are on the left. The original meter on the right is the 20th anniversary edition from 2012. I worked with the original release from 1992 since it had more dynamics.

This is Symphony Of Destruction from my own remaster of Megadeth's Symphony Of Destruction album. The video shows both the original and remastered version volume levels to compare them at the same time stamp and the difference is pretty shocking. Go listen to the original and you'll understand even more what it sounds like when it clips like this.

I thought that even the original version of the album was spiky and fuzzy in the high end. So, I remastered the album by equing, A LOT. You can compare on Youtube by searching the track with "original version" attached to it. Very tiring for the ears to listen to that much high end.

It's not over-compressed like the 2004 and 2012 editions. The 2012 remaster was basically a bass boost and volume boost that clips all over the place while the 2004 version was remixed with drum samples for the kick and snare, along with different processing for the vocals and better defined low end, but much more listenable than the 2012 version.

You pretty much have to go back to the early 90s and 80s to find Cds that didn't clip like this. Sure, they were a lot quieter, but at least you didn't hear them clip. Well done sir!
