CIT

This video, produced by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's (SAMHSA) GAINS Center, provides an overview of Crisis Intervention Teams (CIT). The CIT model combines training for police officers with partnerships between law enforcement and local behavioral health service providers to furnish officers with the training and services necessary to identify and address a mental health crisis situation safely, effectively, and efficiently.
