This sauce would also be perfect to dip some Jiaozi (dumplings). I don't think the eggs will have tainted the taste too much, maybe you can even use the remaining sauce! No waste!

One extra tip, put a paper towel over the eggs. It'll prevent the "white spots" on the eggs. Also, generally, the longer you marinade, the more the flavor spreads around the egg.

A tip for if your egg isn't covered all the way, put a paper towel over it, the marinade soaks into the towel and covers the rest of the egg

These were incredible, I cut up some steak and made some stir fry using the left over marinade and it was some of the best I've ever had.

Tea egg is a different type of dish from Taiwan, which are hard-boiled in tea. This is Japanese marinated egg, most popular for being soft-boiled

So I made this today after finding this video yesterday; I can definitely say they need to marinate longer than two hours if you really wanna taste the marinade (I was impatient and really wanted to try one 😂), but even with the bare minimum marinating time it was really good! I did my eggs for 7min 15 seconds, just because that's how I prefer them. But yeah I'm gonna marinate these longer and see how they do! But this was a really easy and simple lunch for myself. (:

**Edit to add:** Two days is PERFECT marinating time for this ❤️

I love soft boiled eggs! We live in the suburbs and have a chickens in the backyard so get about a half dozen eggs per day. I can’t wait to try this. Liked and subscribed! Excellent content😊

You should use mirin instead of brown sugar. It will result in great flavor👍🏼

Hey Guga, thanks for your great videos.
After watching your videos, I have three requests for future videos:
- Please try some other cattle breeds than wagyu and American beef.
- How do you clean all your pans and other cooking ustensils so they continue to be so shiny ?
- Please cook a foie gras in a terrine using sous vide.
And yes I'll repeat those requests often. ;)

Putting a bit of vinegar in the water that is boiling the eggs will make it easier to peel the shells.

Slightly less than fresh eggs are best for boiling because they separate more readily from the membrane and shell
